Longchi

The Longchi (Dragon Lakes), located in the Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang near Kuqa, consists of two high-altitude lakes: Big Dragon Pool (≈2390 m) and Small Dragon Pool (≈3700 m).
During the Tang dynasty, the monk Xuanzang passed through the area on his journey to India and mentioned it in the Great Tang Records on the Western Regions. Local legend tells of dragons in the lakes, associated with mystical tales linked to the Kucha region.
