Gongnais National Forest Park

Located in Hejing County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, Gongnais National Forest Park spans approximately 400 square kilometres along the upper reaches of the Gongnais River, at elevations ranging from 1,600 to 2,400 meters. Established officially as a National Forest Park in 2000, Gongnais preserves this deep history of seasonal migration and exchange within a landscape of spruce forests, clear rivers, and grasslands—an enduring link between Central Asian nomadic culture and China’s mountain frontiers.
